Kratie Celebrates the 10th National Clean City Day Under the Theme "Clean Cities Support Cambodian Tourism"

KRATIE: A ceremony to celebrate the 10th National Clean City Day was held in Kratie Province, under the theme "Clean Cities Support Cambodian Tourism." The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Kratie Province, Kham Sopheap, leaders of departments around the province, government officials, Armed Forces, students and members of youth groups.

Deputy Governor Kham Sopheap read out a message from Prime Minister Hun Sen and the Honorary Chairman of the National Committee for Clean City Assessment, accompanied by the announcement of the Clean Cambodia Campaign to welcome the 2023 SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games. The Deputy Governor said this means that environmental protection and the promotion of green development help contribute to the development of tourism and society in Cambodia. The message from the Prime Minister also included that this campaign aims to demonstrate the importance of cleanliness, as cleanliness has become a new approach and necessity for boosting tourism in and after the Covid-19 crisis, as well as for preparing to host the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.

According to the Deputy Governor, this clearly reflects that the city is dedicated to being smart, clean, green, tidy, orderly and fully secure. Additionally, the Deputy Governor said a city which provides public services, good hospitality, connected infrastructure and quality tourism services is one that everyone aspires to live in, and these listed factors are important for encouraging tourists in choosing this destination at the moment and in the future, too.

She further stated that on behalf of the Royal Government, the desire to set out priority work, including all relevant institutions, sub-national administration and the private sector, who must continue to participate together in the implementation, and hold a high sense of responsibility on the measures and legal standards that have been put in place. Relevant stakeholders must continue to contribute to the promotion and restoration of tourism by promoting the implementation of strategic plans set by the Royal Government to transform Cambodia into a quality, safe and sustainable tourism destination that will bear fruit and contribute to the recovery of national economic growth from the Covid-19 crisis.
