Happy International Women’s Day to All the Khmer Sportswomen

PHNOM PENH: EAC News sports would like to wish all the Khmer athletic women a happy international women’s day and would like to pay tribute to all the women athletes who compete or have competed on the behalf of Cambodia.

A special Thank you to.

 Hero of female sportswoman Ke Leng, Leng Cambodia’s petanque player, and 4-time gold medalist. She has earned gold medals from international competitions in France in 2013, Thailand in 2015, China in 2017, and Phnom Penh in 2019 – this does not include her other awards and recognitions.

Son Seavey has won Gold medals in the women’s Taekwondo event in 2013, 201, and in 2019 and a bronze in 2011 in the Southeastern Asian Games. 2014 she had won Gold in the Asian Games in South Korea

Jessa Khan, who has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, has won two Gold medals and other tournaments. Gold in the Asian Games 2018 and Southeast Asian Games 2019.

Female athlete Chov Sotheara is one of only a handful of Cambodian women who have dared to grapple, fight and elbow their way into a sport little known in this country: Modern freestyle wrestling. She has two bronze medals she brought back from the Southeast Asian Games in 2003 and 2005.
