INTERNATIONAL: The latest update regarding the peace talks on Thursday between Russia and Ukraine, spur a deal on humanitarian corridors, Kyiv and Moscow agree on plan for safe corridors to evacuate civilians.

The Ukrainian delegation's agenda is to agree on an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to leave front-line communities, a Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak has said on Thursday.

The Ukrainian delegation had arrived earlier in the day, while Russia's had come to the city on Wednesday.

The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, has told reporters on Wednesday that discussions would focus on "issues related to a cease-fire and the need for a humanitarian corridor."

"We discussed our positions at our previous meetings. Russia put forward a number of initiatives related to an immediate cease-fire," he has said.

Both sides, however, agreed to hold a second round of negotiations to achieve a cease-fire.
