Sar Sokha Urges Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration to Strengthen Anti-Drug Campaign

BANTEAY MEANCHEY: The Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group to visit Banteay Meanchey province, Sar Sokha, has urged the Banteay Meanchey provincial administration and relevant authorities to pay more attention to the campaign against illegal drugs.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration's 2021 Review Meeting, Mr. Sar Sokha urged authorities to investigate and crack down on illegal drugs in line with new developments in production technology and current illegal drug trafficking activities in society. He also called for increased control of drug trafficking and illicit drug use to cut off the flow of illicit drug trafficking and enhance regional cooperation to prevent Cambodia becoming a hub for drug production purposes.

Mr. Sar Sokha also urged the local working group, especially the relevant authorities, to serve the well-being of the local people by implementing the policy measures of safe villages, communes and districts.

There are 7 safe village / commune policies, such as providing public services with quality, transparency and trustworthiness, no crime of theft, drugs, illegal gambling or all other forms of crimes, good public order in villages/communes (especially no traffic accidents), no violence and gang-free families who utilize effective non-judicial local dispute resolution measures, and having a good environment in villages/communes where disasters and epidemics are responded to quickly and effectively.
