Russia to Enhance Cooperation with Preah Sihanouk Provincial Authority for Further Development

SIHANOUKVILLE: The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Alexey Chepa, met with the governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, Kuoch Chamroeun, to discuss enhancing cooperation between Russia and the Preah Sihanouk provincial authority, in order to boost economic relations and culture, as well as to encourage more tourism from Russia to the province.

Deputy Chairman Alexey Chepa said that he looks forward to cooperating with the provincial authorities in further supporting Preah Sihanouk’s development, while speaking highly of the rapid development of the coastal province.

He also stated that he supports organizing direct flights from Russia to Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap provinces, and further expressed interest in seeking the opportunity to form a city alliance between Preah Sihanouk city (Sihanoukville) and the Russian city of Veliky Novgorod in the future.
