Prime Minister of Malaysia to Pay Official Visit to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has issued a press release announcing the Prime Minister of Malaysia’s official state visit to Cambodia from 23-24 February 2022, at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The full press release is as follows:

“At the invitation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia, will lead a high delegation to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 23-24 February 2022.

During the visit, His Excellency Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob will be received in a Royal Audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. His Excellency the Prime Minister will also pay courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey SAY Chhum, President of the Sena and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG Samrin, President of the National Assembly.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister HUN SEN and His Excellency Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob will have a meeting to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation, including trade and investment, socio-economic, defense and security, and the post COVID-19 socio-economic recovery, and also change views on regional and international issues of common interests and concerns. At the end of the meeting, the two Prime Ministers will have a joint press conference.

His Excellency Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob will also lay wreathe at the Independence Monument and pay tribute at the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK "PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDE the Late King-Father of Cambodia.

As 2022 marks the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between the two countries, the official visit of His Excellency Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob will be a significant milestone to further strengthen the existing good bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for mutual benefits of the two nations.”
