Nearly 10 Cambodian Workers Killed and Injured in Traffic Accident in Prachinburi, Thailand

THAILAND: At least three Cambodian workers were killed and four others seriously injured in a road accident in Prachinburi province, Thailand, after their car heading to Bangkok collided head-on with a truck.

The horrific traffic accident happened at 3:00 AM on Sunday, 20 February, on the section of Road 359 between km 54-55 in Village 1, Krak Sambo Commune, Serey Moha Po District, Prachinburi Province, Thailand.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, prior to the incident, a white Nissan Navara (with license plate number Srah Keo 3609) driven by a Thai national was carrying seven Cambodian workers from Aranyaprathet district to Chheang Sao Province. The car was speeding in the dark of night and hit the back of a truck, which was carrying Eucalyptus trees. The driver, three Thais and three Cambodian workers died on impact, and four other Cambodian workers were severely injured and rushed to Kabin Borey Hospital.

Following the accident, Thai authorities are working to locate and contact relatives and family members of the three deceased Cambodian workers so that their bodies can be returned back to their hometowns.
