Minister Men Sam An Urges Branch of Cambodian Women's Association to Join the Government in the Fight Against Covid-19

Kampot: The Minister of National Assembly Senate Relations and Inspection, and the President of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development, Honorary Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, presided over the ceremony to announce the revision and supplement of the Branch Committee of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development of Kampot Province on Friday morning at the Kampot Provincial Hall. During the program, she urged the Provincial Women's Association Branch Committee to join the Royal Government in the fight against Covid-19.

She advised the Kampot Women's Association to strengthen the working system, implement roles and responsibilities and to divide the duties and responsibilities among the leadership of the committee, to increase the effectiveness of protection against Covid-19, especially the new Omicron variant. She added that it is necessary to accelerate the roll-out of the third dose booster shots, and continue on to the fourth dose, and not to expect the two base doses to be enough for protection.

She continued to urge all to continue efforts in the fight against Covid-19, in particular, to implement the necessary "3 Do’s and 3 Dont’s " measures, and to participate in the implementation of the circular letter on the implementation of measures to combat and prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the community, especially the new Omicron variant.

There are a total of 76 volunteering members of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development Branch Committee of Kampot Province.

Currently, Cambodia has detected over 4,000 community transmissions of the Covid-19 Omicron variant. Although this variant has been shown to not be as harmful as other Covid-19 mutations, preventive measures and vaccinations are still needed for the protection of public health.
