Ministry of Education Asks Officers to Conduct Covid-19 Rapid Tests Before Returning to Work

PHNOM PENH: In order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has instructed education officials at all national units in the capital and provinces to continue strengthening vigilance and tightening measures, particularly the ‘3 Dos and 3 Don’ts’. The Ministry especially urges all officers who have gone on missions in the capital or provinces or travelled to other places (for personal reasons) to take a Covid-19 rapid antigen test before returning to work.

In addition to such decisions, the Ministry also encourages all gatherings, training activities or workshops to be organized in small numbers or to be organized online, and to also continue sharing and distributing documents digitally, such as over Telegram, WhatsApp.

The Ministry requires all national units to regularly monitor and report on the health status of officials, ensure that all education officials wear protective face masks at all times when entering and leaving work, and ensure that all officials are regularly washing or sanitizing hands with soap or alcohol.

The Ministry of Education added, "All entrances and exits [of buildings] must conduct temperature checks and ensuring mask-wearing, in case of non-compliance, entry into the premises is strictly prohibited. In case of any suspicion or abnormality that appears like symptoms of the Covid-19 disease, report or call 115 immediately."
