PM Postpones Meeting with A Grade Students

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has postponed his meeting between him and students who received A grades in the recent high school baccalaureate exams for the 2020-2021 academic year. He was previously scheduled to meet with students on 28 February, however, has now postponed due to concerns about the rising spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant in Cambodia, particularly in Phnom Penh.

The Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page saying that the new Omicron variant has been spreading in Phnom Penh, thus for the safety of all A-Grade students and all parties involved, he has decided to postpone the meeting for a later date. He wrote, "Due to Covid-19, the variant called Omicron has been spreading in Phnom Penh. For the safety of all A-Grade students and participants, I have decided to postpone the meeting with students scheduled for 28 February, 2022, to a later date. Maintaining life and health is our main task now. Keep alive and healthy, there is no shortage of meeting time."

He asked for the forgiveness and understanding from students and families given the precarious situation.
