SEOUL: Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked the King, members of the Royal Government, friendly countries and all compatriots for their support and active participation in the construction process of building peace in Cambodia.

Speaking at the Sunhak Peace Prize Awards Ceremony 2022 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on the morning of 12 February 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee for recognizing his achievements in ending the civil war and building a full and lasting peace in Cambodia.

He added that the success of bringing peace to Cambodia cannot be achieved by him alone.

Prime Minister said: "For me, the Sunhak Peace Prize 2022 is not something that I did alone, many other people also deserve to share this prize for their support of my efforts to build peace in Cambodia."

He expressed his gratitude to former King Norodom Sihanouk, Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and the current King Norodom Sihamoni, his family and the leaders of the members of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Armed Forces from all factions. Friends of the international community and compatriots who have promoted the spirit of national unity among the Cambodian people as one great family supported his peace-seeking process for the nation and joined him in a joint effort to build and promote peace in Cambodia.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Hun Sen, was chosen by the Sun Hak Peace Foundation as the winner of his peace because of his steadfastness for many years as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his leadership contributed to building stability, economic development and peace in the Kingdom of Cambodia and the whole of Southeast Asia.

Prime Minister of Cambodia is the first leader in ASEAN to be awarded by this Peace Foundation.
