INTERNATIONAL: Los Angeles County firefighters are battling a brush fire near Whittier, California that had burned at least three homes, destroying two of them.
A Fire Department spokesman has reported that more than 200 firefighters halted the forward progress of the blaze.
Authorities have said the fire broke out at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, in the area of Cinco View Drive and East Banyon Rim Drive, near Sycamore Park and grew to about 7 acres at one point before it was mostly put out shortly after and was downgraded to about 4 acres.
