PM Sends Congratulatory Message to Senate President Say Chhum for His 77th Birthday

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen wished the President of the Senate, Say Chhum, good health and long life to lead the Senate to achieve new and greater achievements in strengthening the rule of law, democracy, and pluralism, respect for human rights, deepening state reform in all areas, strengthening institutional capacity and promoting national development, on the occasion of his 77th Birthday.

He stated in his congratulatory message, "On behalf of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, civil servants throughout the country and on my own behalf, as well as my wife, I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt congratulations and all the best to Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey, President of the Senate.”

Senate President Say Chhum was born on 5 February 1945 in Koh Sotin District, Kampong Cham Province. He is also the Vice President and Secretary General of the Cambodian People's Party. He was elected as President of the Senate on 9 June 2015.
