30K Doses of AstraZeneca Vaccines from Poland Finally Arrives in Cambodia

Phnom Penh: Cambodia have received 300,000 AstraZeneca vaccines from Poland. The package has arrived in Phnom Penh on Sunday, according to health secretary of state Youk Sambath.

The handover ceremony was presided over by Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and EU ambassador to Cambodia on Sunday at the Peace Palace.

Severe weather in Poland had led to delay of Covid-19 vaccine shipments to Cambodia, which the Poland-aided vaccine donation ceremony, supposedly held on Tuesday m 25 Janaury.

Cambodia has so far vaccinated more than 89 percent of the total population. Nearly 5.2 million people have received third dose and over 420,000 received the fourth shot.

Cambodia has received about 43 million doses of COVID19 vaccine to inoculate her people, of which China has supplied the most vaccines to Cambodia, followed by World Health Organization through the COVAX Facility, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and Netherland.
