Knife Attack in Thailand Kills a Briton and Another Injured for Drinking and Playing Music Loudly

INTERNATIONAL: A 49-year-old Briton was found dead at his home with knife wounds in western Thailand, and a Thai suspect was in custody, police has reported on Sunday.

Another British man, 55, has suffered injuries and was in hospital, police in Kanchanaburi province has said, adding that further evidence was being collected.

A preliminary investigation says that the Thai man has attacked with a rice sickle for drinking and playing music loudly.

A witness, a resident at the scene, has told police that both victims were drinking since the evening of Friday until at 3am, while both were singing loudly in front of their resident when the 22-year-old male Thai suspect, also a neighbour, came out of his house with a rice sickle and started hacking one of them. The other British national who has witnessed the incident tried to stop the suspect and got injured during the fight. The 22-year old suspect has a history of mental health issues.
