INTERNATIONAL: Spain recorded its highest number of coronavirus-related deaths since March with 247 in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Tuesday.
The country has recorded nearly 135,000 daily cases, bringing the total to 7.59 million, while the overall death toll hit 90,383.
The incidence of coronavirus in the country passed a new level of 3,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants Tuesday with 3,042 -- 52.6 points more than Monday -- as it faces a sixth wave of the pandemic with the omicron variant.
Navarra has the highest incidence figure with 7,253 cases while Andalusia has the lowest with 1,577.
Madrid, Basque Country and Aragon are among locations that have recorded the highest daily infections.
A total of 16,555 people are currently hospitalized, while occupation at intensive care units stands at 2,200. The density rate at intensive care units is 23.5%.
More than 38.09 million people are fully vaccinated in Spain, which is more than 82% of the population.
