PM Instructs Ministries to Set Up Telegram to Report Traffic Problems

KOH KONG: While presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony of the expansion of National Road No. 48 on Monday morning, Prime Minister Hun Sen instructed the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to set up a Telegram chat for people to report traffic problems to the authorities.

The Prime Minister said, "traffic problems are important because now traffic accidents happen every day." He further stated that, "If we make a Telegram with the participation of the people, whenever a traffic accident occurs, the people can record and post in the Telegram so that the authorities can know and see the license plate of the perpetrator quickly."

He continued to say, "We must pay attention to this traffic problem while we are also fighting to prevent Covid-19, because before there were more deaths due to Covid-19 than traffic accidents, now we can better prevent [the spread of] Covid-19, but the death toll from traffic accidents is still higher than the death toll from Covid-19."
