PM Sends Condolences to Senior Minister Kun Kim and Koeng Chandy on Death of Pheng Koeng

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a message of condolences to Senior Minister Kun Kim and his wife, Koeng Chandy, on the death of Minister Kun Kim’s father-in-law, Pheng Koeng, on Thursday.

The Prime Minister wrote:

"My wife and I are extremely emotional to hear that the great Buddhist monk Pheng Koeng, the father of His Excellency and Her Excellency, passed away at 1:45 AM at the age of 82 on 30 December 2021.

In this sad time, my wife and I would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, because the loss of the great Buddhist monk Pheng Koeng is the loss of the great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, who always provided good Dharma for his beloved children in the past, the great Buddhist monks have always contributed to the promotion of Buddhism in Cambodia in an unforgettable way.

My wife and I would like to dedicate our prayers to the souls of the great monks and nuns, including Pheng Koeng, and wish them to be reincarnated as soon as possible, so that they will not be forgotten."
