Cambodia Receives Another Batch of Pzifer Vaccines from Australia

PHNOM PENH: Another batch of vaccines donated by Australia has landed at Phnom Penh International on Tuesday evening.

More than 1,5 million Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines have been welcomed by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health Yuok Sambath along with a representative of the Embassy of Australia to Cambodia.

That’s the second bath of vaccines donated by the government of Australia in December.

Last Sunday, Cambodia has received 783,000 of the over 2.35 million doses of Pfizer that Australia has committed to deliver to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

With the newly arrived vaccines, Cambodia has now more than 43.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from purchases and donations: 29,424,800 doses of Sinovac, 7,800,000 doses of Sinopharm, 2,661,400 doses of AstraZeneca, 2,350,530 doses of Pfizer, 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 188,160 doses of Moderna. Of the vaccines, more than 3 million were from COVAX Facility.

As of Dec. 27, 89% percent of the total Cambodian population of 16 million have been inoculated against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides domestic vaccination, Cambodia has donated COVID-19 vaccines to some countries in the region, including Lao and Vietnam.
