MoEYS: Successful HS Exam a New Step Following the Country's Reopening

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Education Hang Chuon Naron, announced the successful completion of the High School Diploma Examination for the 2020-2021 academic year, while all students with health problems, including Covid-19 positive students who managed to take the examination until the end.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, after the end of the Baccalaureate exam, Minister Hang Chuon Naron has thanked the teachers who have worked to help the exam, as well as the capital authority, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders who participated in facilitating this exam successfully. He sees this success as a new step in controlling epidemics and reopening the national economy.

He says, "This exam is a new step for Cambodia towards better management of Covid disease and towards the reopening of the national economy."

According to the Minister, all the workpaper of the students will be sent to Phnom Penh to be distributed to 10 correction centers in the capital on Wednesday. The Ministry says seven exam subjects are divided into physical science class (History, Biology, Chemistry, Foreign Languages, Khmer Literature, Physics and Mathematics) and Social Sciences (Earth and Ecology, History, Geography, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Morality and Khmer Literature).

The high school diploma exam for the academic year 2020-2021 held from December 27 and 28 with 114,185 candidates with 36 students with health problems which two of them are Covid-19 positive. The results of the exam will be announced on January 18 and 19 next year.
