Three Pagodas in Siem Reap Win Environment-Friendly Award

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Environment has granted three pagodas, located in Siem Reap province, for their environment-friendly footprint, been analyzed by a technical committee that its infrastructure, waste management and green environment for garden, vegetable and trees are outstanding and worth the award.

The awards have been given by the Director of Siem Reap Provincial Department of Environment Sun Kong to Reach Bo, Damnak and Baray Moha Noti Ratanaram (known as Svay Romeat) pagodas.

Including the three pagodas, twelve entities have won the award, which is an initiative for government institutions, schools, pagodas and individuals to further promote environment-friendly structures.

Sun Kong has used the opportunity of giving the award to the pagodas by saying that both public and private entities, as well as all citizens should keep chasing for clean energy and architectures for a Kingdom with no pollution or degradation. He has added the award shouldn’t be the only motivation for change, but as a change of paradigms in engineering and lifestyle.
