DPM Men Sam An Praises Hun Manet's Leadership and Patriotism

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, issued a letter of congratulations on the outcomes of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Central Committee meeting held on Friday, which confirmed the party’s continued unanimous support for Prime Minister Hun Sen as Prime Minister, and the decision to nominate Hun Manet as Prime Minister in the future.

In the congratulatory letter dated Friday, 24 December, Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An expressed her sincere admiration for Prime Minister Hun Sen who has a long-term vision to take responsibility for the fate of the country, which unites the nation and the success of the party who has been winning so far. She also said she supported and appreciated the spirit of the party convention that decided to elect Hun Manet as the future Prime Ministerial candidate.

"His Excellency Hun Manet deserves to continue as Prime Minister for the future. His Excellency is a strong representative of the younger generation with a high level of education, and who is capable of leading a strong nationalistic ideology with a strong sense of patriotism. [He is] the one that we all respect and sincerely appreciate with all our hearts,” she said.

The 43rd Central Committee Meeting of the CPP held on Friday also saw the election of the Minister of Defense, Tea Banh, and the Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, Men Sam An, as new party Vice Presidents.

The CPP was formed on 28 June 1951 by Cambodian nationalists to liberate the Cambodian nation from French colonization. It is the oldest party in Cambodia and helped lead the struggle to liberate the Cambodian people from the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979, and has also led the country till the present day.
