More than 250,000 Domestic Tourists Around the Kingdom Over the Weekend

PHNOM PENH: During the Christmas holidays, between the 25 and 26 of December, a total of 253,621 domestic tourists have travel around the country. The information has been shared by Minister of Tourism Thong Khon.

Among the 252,621 thousanda tourists, only 10,635 wore foreign visitors. The most visited destination was the Phnom Penh capital, followed by Preak Sihanouk, Siem Reap, Pursat, Kampot, Battambang and Mondulkiri.

According to the minister, many of tourists are already with plans to enjoy their new year holiday, with the reservation rate reaching more than 80%, especially Kep, Kampot and Moldukiri. Other destinations desired by domestic travelers are Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Siem Reap, Battambang and Rattanakiri provinces.

With the high amount of tourisms traveling and enjoying their holiday, the Ministry of Tourism and Municipal Tourism Departments are still requesting all citizens to strictly follow health measures, as well as promoting the Standard Operation.
