Kirt Chantharith's Team Wins the 5th Samdech Techo Golf Tournament 2021

KANDAL: After opening and playing the 5th Samdech Techo Hun Sen Tournament 2021 in the morning on 25 December, the trophy for team and individual golfers, as well as other trophies, were awarded directly by Prime Minister Hun Sen to encourage the players.

According to the results announced by the competition committee, the team of the Director General of Immigration, Kirth Chantharith, won the competition, while the team of Deputy Prime Minister, Bin Chhin, was in second place and Mr. Ouk Khmouch's team was in third place.

Representing the organizers of the competition, the Minister of Tourism, Thong Khon, said that the 5th Samdech Techo Cup 2021 was organized in order to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the win-win policy of Prime Minister Hun Sen, which has brough peace, stability and development to the country.

He confirmed: "Of course! Without peace (in the country), sports cannot have a chance to develop."

The Samdech Techo Hun Sen Golf Tournament was opened by Prime Minister Hun Sen on Saturday morning at Vattanac Golf Resort, Takhmao City, Kandal Province, with sponsorships worth more than US $ 100,000. The rest of the pay for today's tournament will be donated to the Golf Federation of Cambodia for the benefit of the federation, including training and sending people abroad for golf competitions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony this morning, the Minister of National Defense and President of the Golf Federation of Cambodia, Tea Banh, said that due to the success of Prime minister's win-win policy, Cambodia has transformed itself from a war-torn country to one that is stable, peaceful and united, and making progress in all areas, especially sports, as exemplified by the gold tournament.

Hun Sen's win-win policy was launched on 29 December 1998, which welcomed all Cambodians to unite and build a nation, bringing complete peace and national unity that provided numerous opportunities for Cambodia’s development.

Cambodia recently reached lower middle-income country status, and is aspiring to become a upper middle-income country by 2030.
