Foreign Media Published About CPP Decision Supporting the Future Candidate for Prime Minister Hun Manet
PHNOM PENH: Reuters, Aljazeera, Channel News Asia, Straits Times, China Morning Post, Xinhua and regional newspapers such as Bangkok Post, Vietnam Plus, Free Malaysia Today, a total of 24 institutions have reported about the CPP Central Committee meeting today that elected Mr. Hun Manet as the future candidate for Prime Minister.
"The ruling party supports Hun Sen's son as the future leader,” a newspaper was quoted as saying. “ The son shines in Cambodia.”
The 43rd Central Committee Meeting of the Cambodian People's Party this morning has officially decided to elect DPM Tea Banh as the Vice President of the Party and DPM Men Sam An as the Vice President of the Party and PM Hun Sen still has the support of the Prime Minister and unanimously elected Hun Manet as the future Prime Minister.
Speaking at a press conference after the 43rd Central Committee Meeting of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) today, party spokesman Sous Yara has said that the election of two more party vice presidents and trust Mr. Hun Manet as the future prime minister candidate has demonstrated to the world that the CPP is a united party that guarantees the protection of peace in Cambodia, avoiding persecution or political geopolitical rivalries.
"The main reason is that we want to show that the CPP is united internally and will have a strong unity because of the resistance to the enemy and the persecution of the geopolitical rivalry of the great powers, the maintenance of peace and National stability is bigger than internal competition or running for office or running for prime minister. It goes above and beyond."
The Cambodian People's Party was formed on 28 June 1951 by Cambodian nationalists to liberate the Cambodian nation from French colonization is the oldest party in Cambodia and led the struggle to liberate the Cambodian people from the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979 and has led the country to the present.
