PHNOM PENH: Three Taiwanese nationals arrested in a drug bust last week in Kampong Speu’s “Mango Farm” are facing possible life imprisonment for drug trafficking. The three were arrested in a large-scale operation for the Anti-Drug Crime Unit a week ago, which resulted to the death of a Chinese national engaged in a shootout with the operatives.
Spokesman for the Phnom Penh Municipal Court Plang Sophal says that the case of criminals who intend to export drugs abroad has been charged by Deputy Prosecutor Seng Heang accused of "illegal production and transportation of drugs" and "money laundering. He has added that after the indictment the prosecution sent the case to the investigating judge for further proceedings.
During the operation, police have seized over two tons of ketamine powder. Investigators believe that the name “Mango Farm” is just a cover of the foreign nationals’ drug operation in Cambodia.
