MoH Continues to Remind Citizens to Get Vaccinated Against Covid-19, Including the Booster

PHNOM PENH: The Covid-19 Vaccination Commission continues to remind people across the country to get the Covid-19 vaccine and encourages everyone to get involved in preventing the spread of Covid-19, especially against new mutated variants.

This call is in accordance with the high recommendation of Prime Minister Hun Sen, and is to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially the new Omicron variant, which is already actively spreading in other countries and becoming an increasing health and safety concern.

Ministry of Health Spokesperson and Chairperson of the Commission for Covid-19 Vaccination (CCV-19), Or Vandine, continues to remind all who have not yet received the basic Covid-19 vaccine to please hurry and get it. She emphasized that everyone, including those aged 18 or older, who has already received the basic dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and has a gap of four months or more since getting the second dose should go and get a third booster dose at the location provided by the 25 capital-provincial administrations nearest to your residence.

She stated that the Capital-Provincial Governor will continue to give guidance to local authorities in all districts, municipalities and communes in order to encourage participation in the vaccination and booster dose campaigns. This includes continuing to educate people of all ages about the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine, encouraging them to get it, and ensuring Covid-19 vaccination sites are well-prepared and organized to make it easier for people to come and receive the vaccination.

She added that those who cannot travel to get the Covid-19 vaccine, especially the elderly who have difficulty traveling, should ask their doctors to help deliver the vaccine to their place of residence. She also called on all citizens to continue implementing the "3 Do’s” (wear a mask, wash hands frequently with soap or alcohol, maintain a safe-distance of one and a half meters from others) and "3 Don’t’s" (do not go to crowded places, do not go to closed-off places with no ventilation, do not make contact with one another, such as through shaking hands) even after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
