Thai Foreign Minister to Visit Cambodia and Co-chair 11th JC Meeting

PHNOM PENH: On Thursday morning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has shared the information the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Don Pramudwinai will visit Cambodia this week, as well as co-chair with Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prak Sokhonn, the 11th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (11th JC Meeting).

During his stay in the Kingdom, which is scheduled to happen between the 16 and18 of this month, Don Pramudwinai will pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Hun Sen, as well as have a bilateral meeting with his counterpart Prak Sokhonn to discuss of common and regional topics, such as the next ASEAN 2022, in which Cambodia will be chairing.

The 11th JC Meeting will be under the theme “Peace, Prosperity, Recovery Together”, in which both nations will review the Record of Discussion of the 10th JC Meeting planned in 2016. The objective of the 11th meeting is also to promote cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand in economic and social levels, specially to strengthen the nation’s economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the end of the meeting, Cambodian and Thai Foreign Ministers will hold a handover ceremony of the RT-PCR laboratory equipment package with SARS-CoV-2 test kits from the Thai Government to the Poipet Referral Hospital and the Mongkol Borey Hospital of Banteay Meanchey province.
