More Than 5,000 Forest Seedlings Planted in Encroachment Area

Battambang: On Tuesday morning, 14 December, Governor of Battambang Province Sok Loo has accompanied the Head of Royal Government Delegation in charge of Fisheries Administration, Pum Sotha for a team work to plant mixed flooding forest seedlings back in the conservation land of three main areas in Kroper Skom, located in Prey Chas commune in the district of Ek Phnom.

The planting campaign had also the participation of the Provincial Police Commissioner, General Sat Kimsan, as well as the governor of Ek Phnom district and members of the armed forces.

The initiative to plant seedlings on the three protected areas comes afte Prime Minister Hun Sen issued an order to immediately crack down on all activities that violate protected land of flooding forest or any encroachment made by corrupt traders.

Authorities have announced the planting campaign has successfully replanted seedling of 5,000 trees of different kinds, such as Reang and Sandan trees. One thousand of it are bamboo seeds.
