Japan Supports Pursat Water Supply Project with $21 Million Grant

Pursat: The Government of Japan has provided its support for a water supply expansion project in Pursat province through the provision of a 21.9-million-dollar aid grant. The project’s groundbreaking ceremony took place on Monday morning, in the presence of senior officials from both Cambodia and Japan.

The Pursat Province water supply expansion project held its groundbreaking ceremony on Monday morning under the presidency of the Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, Cham Prasidh, and the Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mikami Masahiro. During the ceremony, Senior Minister Cham Prasidh expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for continuously supporting the development of the Kingdom.

The Japanese Ambassador shared that he hopes this water supply expansion project will have a smooth and successful implementation, and will be able to contribute to improving the living conditions of people residing in Pursat. The Government of Japan has also provided a loan to Cambodia for another water supply expansion project in Siem Reap.
