Motorcycle Shop Set Ablaze in Kampot

KAMPOT: Dozens of vehicles were damaged by a fire that broke out at a motorcycle shop in Kampot City on Thursday morning. According to preliminary investigations, the fire was caused by an electrical shock.

Authorities confirmed that the blaze started around 6 am on Thursday at the Honda Ly Peng motorcycle shop in Kampong Bay North Village along National Road 3 and near Samaki Market.

The Kampot Provincial Police Fire Brigade, led and commanded by Kampot Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Mao Chanthurith, were able to successfully extinguish the fire by 8 am the same day, using three firetrucks and six water cylinders.

Fortunately, no one was injured or physically harmed by the fire, however, 57 motorcycles and two cars – a 570 Lexus and a 2018 Honda CRV – were heavily damaged.
