Siem Reap’s Arts Festival to Boost Tourism

SIEM REAP: Siem Reap is to host the Angkor International Art Festival from the 10th to the 12th of December. It has long been anticipated, and is seen as one of the benchmarks denoting the opening of Siem Reap to tourists from across the globe.

The Director General of the General Department of Cultural Technology of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Sion Sophearith, stated the festival is important and beneficial to the promotion of Cambodian art. He says it is also a much welcome boost to tourism.

The festival itself also helps to establish the link that Siem Reap has been named as the ASEAN Cultural City in 2022. Supported by not only the government the event has also received much welcomed support from local businesses that were crucial in funding the various activities.

The event will include traditional music, dancers, movies, cooking events, various traditional traders and other live performances. All this will only enhance that Siem Reap as a cultural city of ASEAN.
