ADB, UNIDO Eye Boosting Cambodia’s 4IR Transformation

PHNOM PENH: The Asian Development Bank and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization is holding, this Tuesday and Wednesday, an online debate on the stage of Cambodia’s fourth industrial revolution. The virtual discussion will be centered in how Cambodia should achieve this new industrial model by 2030 and what kind of projects should be done in order to transform plans in achievements.

The workshop on Cambodia’s transformation in a 4th industrial revolution has the collaboration of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, as well the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, 400 participants from relevant government bodies, development agencies, private sector, media and academic institutions will be present at the meeting.

One of the subjects to be delivered during the workshop is the adoption of the Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework, 2021–2035, set by the Royal Government as an effort to improve the Kingdom’s digital efficiency in order to get ready for future crisis, such as the current pandemic of Covid-19.

Other topics to be discussed will be diagnostic studies and policy analyses, progress and challenges in the implementation of the government’s policies and strategies, experiences of national and international industries in adopting new technologies, and the role of education and training institutions in preparing and strengthening the country’s competitiveness under the new industry model.
