Champions League: Conceicao Seeks Win Against Atletico

INTERNATIONAL: FC Porto prepared on Monday for their decisive Champions League match against Atletico Madrid at Dragao stadium. Tuesday's matches will decide which team will join group winners Liverpool in the next round.

Porto are on five points while AC Milan and Atletico are tied on four points, so a victory in Tuesday's match secures a position in the last 16 for the Portuguese side.

Conceicao says, "Playing in this last match of the group stage with the possibility of making the last 16 is by itself worthy of praise to my team, it's good. I think it would also be deserved to make the last 16 for everything we did in the group stage already."

Defender Pepe is out of the match after a positive test for Covid-19.

Conceicao has added, "Pepe (defender) tested positive for Covid-19 and unfortunately for us, it's a situation that's out of our control and that is part of what's happening in society, for that reason Pepe will miss this match. I'm convinced Milan will win against Liverpool, like I knew that Milan would get a good result against Atletico, so we just need to win our match and not think about the others."

Porto can secure qualification with only a draw if AC Milan fail to beat Liverpool in front of their own supporters. Conceicao said his players need to go out and win their match because he believes AC Milan will beat what will likely be a second-string Liverpool at San Siro.
