China to Evaluate Cambodia’s Longan Fruit and Fish Farm for Export

Svay Rieng: Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian has announced that they are studying the possibility of Cambodia to directly export to China. He made the announcement during the inauguration ceremony of the National Road No. 11 in Prey Veng province on Monday morning.

He says that a team from the Chinese government will evaluate Cambodia’s longan fruit and fish farm to enable Cambodia to export directly to China soon.

The Chinese ambassador has said that this is in accordance with the principles of the risk assessment. However, the inspection will be conducted online due to Covid-19 situation. He has added that after this assessment, Cambodia's longan fruit will be able to be exported to China next year and the fish farm can be exported in the near future.

The move is a result of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s effort in convincing China to buy more Cambodian agricultural products.
