Cambodia, Thailand to Reopen Border Crossing in Pursat

Pursat: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Senior Minister Sun Chanthol has made a visit at the Thmar Da International Border, in Veal Veng district of Pursat province bordering Thailand, aimed at opening gates between Cambodia and Thailand to increase trade and tourism cooperation between the two countries, as well as to meet the aspirations of the people in the western provinces and investors who are looking forward to seeing the Thmar Da Border turn into an international port for all kinds of goods and tourism.

Sun Chanthol stated on this Saturday, 4 December, that infrastructure plans between Cambodian and Thai provinces of Pursat and Trat, respectively, include the construction of immigration buildings, customs and exercise buildings, joint inspections, parking lots for transit of goods, warehouses, container grounds and administrative buildings, as well as dormitory buildings to open up opportunities for international cooperation and investment.

According to the Minister, cross-border trade, job creation and tourist attraction aim to boost the family economy and society of both nations.
