The Kingdom Declares 8 December as Official Day of Mourning as Homage to Prince Norodom Ranariddh

PHNOM PENH: The Kingdom mourns the passing of Prince Norodom Ranariddh, who became Chairman of the Supreme Council of the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Former First Prime Minister and Former President of the National Assembly, who died on Sunday, 9 of November in France. He was 77 at the time of his death due to lingering illness, from the time of his auto accident in Cambodia in 2018.

His remains will arrive on Sunday by charter flight from France. And The Royal government has issued a notice on how people pay their last respect to the prince.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has announced the official day of mourning will be on Wednesday, 8 of December.All ministries, institutions, schools, hospitals, both public and private sectors , including all kinds of civil servants, armed forces, all pagodas, as well as people all over the country shall raise the national flag half-mast to pay homage to the prince who served The Kingdom well.

All national and private radio and television stations shall suspend their regular programs and broadcasts and must telecast or live stream the events on the day of mourning.

This notice was issued for the public and private institutions and ministries at all level. Everyone in The Kingdom of Cambodia are required to carry out and take part.
