Expert Says "Summit for Democracy" is Actually "Summit for Politics" that targets China, Russia

INTERNATIONAL: The so-called "Summit for Democracy" sponsored by the United States and to be hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden next week is anything but democratic. It is actually a "summit for politics" that targets China and Russia, and the U.S. is being self-enclosed for not accepting other modes of democracy, boldly says by a Chinese expert. United States is being self-enclosed by hosting the summit.

According to the Founding Director of Advanced Institute of Global and Contemporary China Studies, under the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, also Chinese political scientist and political commentator Zheng Yongnian, the United States is very obvious in targeting China by hosting the so-called summit. This is because the modernization of China is yet another choice other than the Western mode, which means that China has been developing itself well without depending on the Western mode. Very few countries can do that. And that's why it has caused worries and fears to the United States. Western democracy is indeed being threatened, as the relevant countries have eventually found out that the threat stems from their internal moves, not from other countries.

Mr. Zheng Yongnian further adds that there are many internal problems among the decision makers of the U.S., but they still feel civilized about themselves but see others as barbaric. So,if the so-called 'democracy summit' continues to blame China or Russia for the threat to Western democracy, internal problems of the relevant countries could be covered up and then become more serious. China defines democracy as notion that "people are really the masters of the country.”

The U.S. says China solving the Taiwan question is aimed at supremacy and driving the U.S. out of the western Pacific, which is not the case. Solving the Taiwan question is intended for realizing the reunification of China and reflects the will of the Chinese nation, which has nothing to do with hegemony or supremacy.

The U.S. is seeing a shrinking middle class and polarization of society, which is quickly reflected in the political polarization of the two parties. The root cause is that capital is playing an excessive role in the economic system of the U.S. The Wall Street is actually out of the control by the White House.

The U.S. applies the criterion of 'obedience' to measure and define the democracy of other countries. The U.S.-sponsored summit wants to gather obedient countries that meet its definition of 'democracy'. However, the U.S. is actually being self-enclosed because it doesn't accept different ideas.

Biden has invited China's Taiwan Province to its so-called "Summit for Democracy", not long after the virtual meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. On the influence of the U.S. move on its ties with China, Zheng has mentioned the relationship between the world's top two economies is becoming more and more complicated. He has declared it is reasonable for China to meet confrontations when necessary.
