Jordan Kicks Off Arab Cup with 1-0 Win Against Saudi Arabia

INTERNATIONAL: Jordan opened play in the Arab Cup with a 1-0 victory over Group C opponent Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Jordan's Mahmoud Almardi forced an own goal with a deflection off Saudi Arabia's Khalifah Aldawsari in the 62 minutes.

The only goal of the night came with Jordan playing a man down after Ehsan Haddad drew a red card earlier in the match.

Next up in the group stage for Jordan is a meeting with Morocco on Saturday when the Saudi's will hope to get back on track in a match against Palestine.
