CHRC Holds Workshop on UPR Recommendations

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Human Rights Committee has conducted a workshop on disseminating the National Report and Recommendations of the Universal Periodic Review under the chairmanship of CHRC head Keo Remy. The workshop is focused on protecting and promoting human rights, the rule of law and development in all areas.

The workshop headed by CHRC Chairman Keo Remy was participated by the Member of Provincial Council Ae Saroom and Deputy Governor of Battambang Thou Phea.

Thou Phea says that the Battambang Provincial Administration has always strived to fulfill its role and duties in serving the people, providing more effective public services, maintaining security, public order, and respecting human rights, which is a contribution to the Royal Government of Cambodia in safeguarding peace, security, respect for human rights and development in all areas where this work must not cut or skip the participation of all citizens.

Keo Remy stresses that the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, headed by Prime Minister Hun Sen has brought peace and always focused on protecting and promoting human rights, the rule of law and development in all areas.

He says Cambodia is strong in the fact that Cambodia does not have the death penalty, which is a sign of its strong commitment to guaranteeing the right to life of its people, the most important fundamental right.

He has added that Cambodia has received eight out of nine international human rights instruments, of which the Human Rights Committee is responsible for writing national reports in response to five international human rights conventions and conventions, and to defend them at the Council United Nations human rights.

Keo Remy also says that some foreign embassies praised the measures taken by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in managing the situation of Covid-19, which was carefully considered until it was ranked. No. 4 in the world is the country that has vaccinated the most people.
