EU Pledges to Continue its Support to Cambodia's Public Financial Management Reform Program

PHNOM PENH: The European Union has pledged to continue its support to Cambodia’s Public Financial Management Reform Program to help achieve successful, sustainable and environmental socio-economic development. This was mentioned by the Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia Carmen Moreno in a meeting with Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth on Monday.

Ambassador Moreno has stated that the outcome framework of the new grant agreement between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the EU will focus on key components of public financial management reform, including: strengthening domestic revenue collection, information technology systems. She has added that for the management of public finances, the budget is linked to policies; the management of public investment is linked to climate change and the strengthening of public procurement.

He has added that in order to speed up the preparation of the outcome framework for the new grant agreement, he advised the technical working groups of both the Royal Government and the European Union to start working together as soon as possible.
