Government Provides Over $500 Million Cash Support to Vulnerable Families Amid Covid-19

 Phnom Penh: The Royal Government has provided around $501.24 million to poor and vulnerable families during the fight against Covid-19 from 25 June 2020 to 24 November 2021. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, since the implementation of the cash subsidy program, the government has opened six rounds of assistance to 682,328 poor and vulnerable families, which has helped nearly 3 million people.

 In 24 June last year, Prime Minister Hun Sen, officially launched a cash subsidy program for poor and vulnerable families during the fight against Covid-19. So far, Cambodia has provided seven rounds of cash to vulnerable people 16 times. The second round of seven rounds of cash will start from Thursday, 25 November until 24 of December.
