PM Asks Border Agreement Cooperation with Vietnam

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun has received a visit from the newly appointed Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang on Wednesday at the Peace Palace. The two discussed the cooperation between nations, especially the border issues. Prime Minister Hun Sen has urged Vietnam through its ambassador in the kingdom to establish a border agriculture agreement.

Early morning courtesy visit was received by Prime Minister Hun Sen from Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang on Wednesday.One of the important topics discussed during their meeting was the agricultural situation in the border.

Prime Minister’s personal assistant Eang Sophallet says Prime Minister Hun Sen has encouraged Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang to pay more attention on increasing the trade volume of the two countries. With his desire to increase the volume of trade, Prime Minister Hun Sen wants to establish an agreement in the borders’ agricultural sector.

 The Prime Minister specifies about the supply of raw materials, the development and supply of seeds, the use of water along the border and the fight against pests.

On the other side, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang has thanked Prime Minister Hun Sen for the support Vietnam has received from Cambodia, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also committed to work hard with his diplomatic mission in the kingdom to improve Cambodia-Vietnam relations through diplomacy, politics, security, defense, trade, investment, economy, agriculture, Covid-19 fight and other sectors.
