PM to Attend ASEAN-China Summit to Commemorate the 30th ASEAN-China Partnership

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a working group to attend a special meeting to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-China Dialogue Partnership on Monday.

The meeting is a special meeting between ASEAN leaders and the People's Republic of China President Xi Jinping.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a statement saying, "ASEAN leaders and Xi Jinping look forward to discussing future directions and finding ways to further strengthen ASEAN-China relations and exchange views on regional and international issues, which is a common interest and concern."

ASEAN-China relations began in July 1991 with mutual assistance, with bilateral trade steadily increasing from less than $8 billion during its initial period to more than $680 billion US dollars in 2020. With such a solid foundation, the two sides pledged to increase cooperation in all fields to open a new page in the common development and prosperity of ASEAN-China.
