Battambang’s KOICA-funded NCD Centre Inaugurated

Battambang: The newest Non-communicable Diseases centre, located in Battambang province has been inaugurated on Tuesday. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency in Cambodia YeaKyung JI, local officials and authorities.The NCD centre is part of KOICA’s project to aid in prevention of community based non-communicable diseases in Battambang Province.

The project supported by KOICA covers the districts of Thmar Kaul and Bavel through the Heart-to-Heart Foundation. It focuses on diabetes and hypertension illnesses.

KOICA Deputy Country Director YeaKyung Ji says that this project will hold great meaning for those who are exposed to the risk of NCDs and related complications. She also says the centre also represents the team’s enthusiasm and dedication to prevent and control NCDs in Cambodia.

She has added that KOICA will keep working on improving quality, safety, and efficiency in the health sector in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia to reach the government’s Sustainable Development Goal to achieve Universal Health Coverage by the near future.
