USAID, LWD Partners Against Human Trafficking

PHNOM PENH: USAID Cambodia Counter Trafficking in Persons has partnered with Life With Dignity on Thursday. The partnership aims to deliver crucial livelihood assistance to at-risk persons in three provinces in the country such as Battambang, Kampong Cham and Prey Veng.

USAID’s helping hand, Winrock CTIP chief of party Mark Taylor says that it is excited to be partnering with LWD, which has strength in experience of delivering rural-based livelihood support for persons at risk of human trafficking and has strong relationships with community leaders and local authorities in these areas.

LWD executive director Suon Sopheap said that it strongly believes that preventing trafficking and exploitation of at-risk populations, including returned migrants, through livelihoods development, responds to their needs. He says, “We together affirm that all our support will uphold the values of justice, equity, dignity and livelihood as crucial for integrity of life of all at-risk populations and returned migrants in Cambodia.
