Ministry of Cult Now Allows Religion Celebration

Phnom Penh:  The Ministry of Cults and Religions has decided to re-organize religious ceremonies, gatherings and other religious events, but health measures must be respected.

Although religious ceremonies are allowed, the Ministry of Cults requires all pagodas and religious sites to implement the measures of the Ministry of Health, the measures of the Capital and Provincial Administration, especially to adhere to "3 do's and 3 don’ts".

The Ministry of Cults also stated that from now on, religious ceremonies will have vaccination cards checked - from monks as well as other participants, to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The permission for the religious reorganization came after the Royal Government announced the full reopening of the country in all fields on

1 November.

It has been more than eight months since the Ministry of Cults decided to suspend religious gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19 since the 20 February community event.
