PM Participates Independence Day Closing Ceremony

Phnom Penh:  Prime Minister Hun Sen has participated the closing ceremony of the 68th Independence Day ceremony on Thursday. Since King Norodom Sihamoni is in France, Senate President Say Chhum has extinguished the "Victory Torch". He was appointed by King Sihamoni. It also coincides with the closing Royal Cambodian Armed Forces 68th anniversary.

The Prime Minister says, "National Independence Day, 9 November commemorates His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk's Royal Mission for the Nation, Motherland and Khmer People, the Father of National Independence, His Majesty the King, who sacrificed his strength and intellect with the utmost zeal struggle within the framework of the Royal Monument to demand true independence in Cambodia."
