30 Cambodians and their Guide Detain After Attempting to Cross the Border Into Thailand

Banteay Meanchey: Coalition forces on Thai-Cambodian border along Banteay Meanchey’s Malai District have arrested 30 Cambodians while attempting to cross into Thailand on Tuesday morning.

Commander of the 815th Border Guard Battalion Colonel Suong Sao says that in accordance with the order of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Commissioner Major General Sithi Loh, they collaborated with the district’s military force. Malai patrol has apprehended 30 Cambodians, 15 were women, attempting to cross the border illegally into Thailand.

Colonel Suong Sao has also confirmed that the force also arrested a 29-year old human trafficker suspect named Heat Hak, the group’s guide as they try their luck on crossing the border. He is handed over to Malai Distrcit Police Inspectorate with the 30 others for further action.
