Three out of Seven Escapees from Stung Treng Prison Found

Stung Treng: The manhunt to find the remaining four prisoners who escaped from Stung Treng prison is still ongoing. Authorities initially believed that the seven fugitives have tried to sneak into the neighboring country, Laos. One was found on Tuesday night while two were caught on Wednesday morning in Thala Borivat district.

The three escapees found were identified as Touch Vat, sentenced to 30 years; Van Phu, sentenced to 20 years; And Ket Ngin was sentenced to four years in prison. All the three of them committed drug offenses. Director of Stung Treng Provincial Prison has stated that of the seven inmates who escaped from the prison, one was sentenced to life in prison for drug trafficking. They escaped prison on Monday 3am and stole a boat crossing the Mekong River.

Stung Treng provincial administration says that the escapees will face additional charges for the act committed.
